Buying dynamo equipment can be a bit more difficult than other bicycle components but large online retailers have made a wide range of products far more easily available. The popularity of dynamo systems is very country dependent so some big online retailers such as Jenson USA (USA based) and Wiggle/Chain Reaction (UK based), which people might naturally turn to, only sell a small selection of products. Conversely, most German retailers sell an extensive range. Luckily, most of the websites recommended here ship worldwide so no matter where you are based you can easily purchase most dynamo products.

One thing to pay attention to when purchasing dynamo products is model variations. Front lights, in particular, usually come in a number of variants. Double check which specific product you want and bear in mind that availability may vary.

Big cycle retailers

Specialist retailers

For the main components such as dynamos or lights the big shops are a good choice, but if you’re looking at a whole system with wires and connectors there are some more specialist shops which may be better able to recommend and sell the correct parts.
